The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) on Thursday held a one day workshop on ‘KPRA team mobilization for enhanced revenue generation’ with a specific focus on the role of subnational taxation . The aim of the workshop was to raise the capacity of the authority officials and to mobilize them for more effective efforts.
On this occasion Muhammad Tahir Orakzai in his keynote address emphasized on the need for broadening KPRA’s team ability to mobilize resources to pay for vital social services. He said that in this respect domestic resource mobilization can rightly become a tool for generating revenues to support sustained and economic growth in the province. DG added that KPRA is generating 64.00 percent of the total tax based Provincial revenue which resulted more trust on the authority. The DG stressed upon the following:
1. To work as team and deploy all resource for the achievement of tax collection targets.
2. To make KPRA a vibrant organization to become a key pillar in resource generation for the province.
3. Facilitation to tax payers shall be the hall mark of the each and every official of the KPRA.
4. To create IT based monitoring of transactions which will minimize the scope of tax evasion, which will enhance the tax collection.
The workshop was attended, amongst others, by KPRA Director Muhammad Tahir Orakzai, Collector Sales Tax Muhammad Yousaf Afridi, Dirctor Admin and HR Arshad Khan Adridi and all other staff including additional directors, deputy directors and field staff.
